Divya Kala Shakti – Witnessing Ability in Disability

A twenty one member team of Ashadeep, Guwahati consisting of students & teachers headed by Dr. Anjana Goswmai, Director, Ashadeep and Mr. Rajesh Kumar, (Member, Composite Regional Centre) represented Assam in “Divya Kala Shakti – Witnessing Ability in Disability” a cultural extravaganza organized by Dept. of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities & Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India held at Rashtrapati Bhavavn’s Cultural Centre on 18th April, 2019. The students of Ashadeep presented an Assamese Bihu folk dance before Hon’ble President of India Sri Ram Nath Kovind. Talented Divyang children and youths drawn from across the states of India conducted the entire program by themselves and displayed their potential in music and dance. Ashadeep students enthralled the audience with their extraordinary talents and sterling performance in Bihu dance.

The Hon’ble President Sri Ram Nath Kovind who has attended the full program has highly praised the talented Divyangs coming from across the country, thus depicting the integrated India through their performances. He said that each of the Divyang artists performances were outstanding and beyond comparison. He also stretched the need to develop this type of program and said that these type of programs should be taken to all corners of the country.
